SSC Turns Two!!!

March 14, 2019

It was two years ago today that the Sailing Science Center project was "born" during a meeting between Jim Hancock and Alexandra Liguori at the Coupa Café in Palo Alto.

Jim had met Alex a few weeks earlier during a lecture she was giving on the physics of sailing at OCSC sailing school where he proposed they meet to discuss a project he had in mind. During their coffee house meeting Jim fleshed out the basic plan for the museum and together they started brainstorming exhibit ideas.

Jim and Alex began a monthly schedule of meetings that has evolved into the project as it is today, with a corporation, a board of directors and more than 60 listed volunteers!
